Designer Website

This website was built with my team at Edge Webware. One of the packages we offer allows clients to choose from a set of WordPress themes we have built internally. Another package we offer includes building a custom theme for the client that will then be added to the themes other clients can choose from. This client is a designer specializing in stationery and invitations, and she wanted a customized look while being able to add and update her own content so we built the Press theme that this website is based off of for her.

My role in this project was primarily on the design side. April, another designer on the Edge Webware team, and I worked closely with the client on this design. Since the client for this website is a designer herself, it was especially important to understand her vision for the end product. She knew what she wanted, and it was refreshing to collaborate with another designer. To highlight her beautiful designs we went with a portolio style look focusing on imagery. The client had an existing website, but the information architecture was unclear, making it difficult for users to find what they were looking for. April and I focused on this problem and solved it by channeling the different service cateogries into four main buckets. Now, only the appropriate items and subcategories display on each page, making the experience less overwhelming and more delightful for the user as they are rewarded with a mediated amount of stimuli on each subsequent click.
