Social Awareness Poster
This social awareness campaign is designed to encourage parents to stop smoking because of the harmful effects it has on their children. Inhaling secondhand smoke damages children's lungs, but the damage is unseen. In this campaign, I sought to persuade by revealing the effects in a truthful and insightful manner.
During the process, the style of the design changed dramatically. At first I tried to tackle too big of a topic by wanting to speak to the harmful effects of smoking in general instead of its secondhand effects on children. My peers helped me narrow it down, which led to the idea for the basic layout of the final version, but what I brought to the first critique was too dark and didn't have a unified illustration style. From critique I was able to take away helpful comments to produce what you see here.
