Heartland Home Buyers Branding
For this project the owner of Heartland Home Buyers, Sondra McKibbon, presented to my class what she is looking for in a logo. My class conducted research in groups, and then each of us went on to create our own logo based off of this research. It came through in Sondra's presentation how close her company is to her heart. She's not doing it just to make money; she believes in the cause of supplying housing to veterans and renewing neighborhoods one home at a time.
A difficult aspect of this project was to combine relevant symbols in a way that is both respectful of the military and not overdone. After sketching over twenty five logo variations, I narrowed it down to three refined versions, and from here my peers gave feedback to help push it to its final state. With the whole class researching together and creating logos for the same client, it took extra thought to make this logo stand out. One way I did this was in the color scheme of blue and orange rather than the more common patriotic red and blue.
