Digital Summit Mailer
The goal of this project was to create a self-mailer. The challenge of the final deliverable was to create a piece that meets self mailing requirements while also including an unconventional panel arrangement. Planning was an important piece of this project to ensure all the panels nested neatly together.
I had been given the opportunity to attend the Digital Summit conference in Denver, Colorado while doing an internship in Colorado Springs, and the conference influenced me to focus on web design as well as graphic design. This made it an easy choice for me to land on designing the mailer for Digital Summit. I wanted to convey a technology feel with the fiber optics looking imagery and black, blue, and white color palette. The content determined the layout. I asked myself what information I would like to receive in a mailer about the Digital Summit conference and went from there. The list of things I would like to know included speakers, a sample schedule, and reasons I should attend. Although there were elements such as hierarchy that required refining, this project felt like it designed itself as things fell into place.
